In honor of Earth Day, which is observed on April 22, Henry Schein, the world's largest provider of healthcare products and services to dental, medical and animal health office-based practitioners, launched its 2012 Global Reflections program.

The new program is planned to help healthcare practitioners more easily use environmentally friendly products that will increase green energy.

"Henry Schein firmly believes that protecting the health of our planet is an important part of our commitment to 'helping health happen' and we are dedicated to doing our part," said Stanley M. Bergman, chairman and CEO of the company. "We embrace environmental stewardship as a pillar of our corporate social responsibility program, Henry Schein Cares, and are proud to provide our customers with thousands of environmentally friendly healthcare products to help 'green' their practices through Henry Schein's Global Reflections program."

"In addition to providing consumers with an array of eco-friendly products, the company said it provides tips for how its customers can adopt greener practices."

Everyday consumers can also make choices to use greener products. For example, Philips recently unveiled its new super energy efficient light bulb in time for Earth Day, which should have a shelf life of about 25 years, according to VentureBeat.
