Deregulation opens competition, makes headlines
Editor’s Note: Each week we plan to bring you highlights from the energy industry as we all increase our energy IQ. Watch the news section on your personal website and on liveviridian.com for daily updates and each week’s VTalk for critical highlights and analysis. This week's Power Story is about the positive impact of deregulation demonstrated in many of our markets.
Although enacted nearly two decades ago in some states, the benefits of energy deregulation are just now beginning to be realized. And the benefits are many: Customer choice has allowed consumers to choose who provides their energy based on their personal preferences. Whether it's savings, green content or other plan features, for the first time, there is strong evidence across the U.S. supporting the case for energy choice.
Read this week’s stories on how consumers are benefiting from the freedom of choice:
Energy deregulation leading to lower costs for consumers
Energy deregulation in New York leads to a cleaner environment
Deregulation plus homegrown energy equals savings

Compliance Reminder
Your weekly compliance reminder is one of our golden rules: The only person who can enroll a customer is the customer.
Even if the customer asks, tells or begs you to enroll on his or her behalf, it is never allowed, under any circumstances. Due to strict market regulations, a customer must always be the one to agree to the terms of Viridian’s service.
As the Associate, please make sure that the customer enrolls properly, including providing accurate contact information. If the customer does not have an email address, please tell them to use none@none.com in the email field. Customers should not provide the enrolling Associate's email address if they do not have their own.
We appreciate your continued dedication to Viridian’s culture of compliance!
