Talk about a show-stopping moment!

In the middle of the Friday General Session at this year’s PowerUP! Convention in Philadelphia, Viridian Founder and CEO Michael Fallquist halted the scheduled presentations to announce that Diamond Partners Bob and Pennie Quintana had just achieved the Ambassador rank. Calling the duo up on stage, Fallquist presented them with their Ambassador pin—and a check for $50,000!

Yet for those who’ve known the couple since they started with Viridian, their reaching this milestone was no surprise. “I know how motivated Bob gets people,” said business associate and Platinum Ambassador Frank Marone. “He’s a great person to have on your team.”

Asked to comment on their remarkable achievement with the company, Bob and Pennie Quintana were effusive: “Viridian has empowered us and improved our lives in many ways in the 18 months that we’ve been here,” they said. “Of course there are the amazing, tangible things like the great financial rewards and passive residual income. But there’s also the generous recognition—both public and private—that we’ve received, including the Audi car program, trips like Brazil, leadership dinners and other events we’ve been invited to attend, all of which have been extremely exciting and fulfilling for us personally. We are extraordinarily grateful for every one of these!”

The Quintanas have steadily built a strong business and are enjoying growing success with Viridian. Bob said he’s selective about whom he recruits, seeking unique individuals with drive. “I really look for people who see the opportunity and want to seize it. They see that building a sustainable business can provide something for them, their family and their lifestyle.”

The Quintanas have three main criteria they look for in team members: They like a person who has a defined “Why,” is coachable, and has enjoyed previous success in other ventures. As for his own “Why,” Quintana said it’s to help himself by helping others. “To me, the business of Viridian is all about the personification of that old saying that if you help other people get what they want, you can have what you want.”

Living that maxim to the fullest, the Quintanas acknowledge that it’s the people they work with who make all the difference. “We’re so grateful for the extraordinary relationships, love and support we’ve developed with the team members in our direct organization, without whom none of our success in Viridian would be possible,” Bob said. “Many of them are not only our teammates and business partners, but are now some of our closest friends in the world; we love and appreciate them all immensely!”

Part of the Quintanas’ helping and interacting with other people is giving them the opportunity to improve their lifestyle while improving the environment. Bob said that until a few years ago, the green movement was not a big part of his life, but has since become a major focus. “If everybody pitches in a little, we can all make a larger impact.”

He related the story of a few years back, when he helped organize a food drive where bags were left on porches, asking for donations to be picked up later. Quintana said he was impressed by how willing people were to contribute, some of whom left notes to knock on the door because they had more to donate that wouldn’t fit in the bag. “So many people want to help, but they just don’t know how,” he said, adding how he utilizes that same yearning to help, to enroll customers in Viridian.

In addition to the material and financial gains Viridian has afforded them, the Quintanas also acknowledge the personal and professional growth they’ve enjoyed as a result of the people and situations they’ve encountered. “These various experiences with Viridian have challenged us in positive ways and helped us ‘stretch our comfort zones’, which has led us to grow both professionally and as people,” Bob said. “Whether our Associates realize it or not, simply by their presence with Viridian they’ve contributed to us and to the company. The ripple effect of their being here has an impact that will always be felt in some positive way.”
